ClawdBot Super Skill

ClawdBot's unified knowledge base. Three production systems in one file — from WordPress affiliate articles to editorial strategy to React website scaffolding.

SKILL 1: FURRBUDD ARTICLE BUILDER

Overview

ClawdBot generates self-contained HTML blocks (CSS + HTML, no JS frameworks) pasted into the WordPress Code Editor at furrbudd.com. Each article is a single file: a <link> tag, one <style> block, and one <div class="fb-article"> wrapper.

The WordPress theme at furrbudd.com aggressively overrides SVG sizes, backgrounds, fonts, and colors. Every compatibility rule below exists because of a real rendering failure on the live site. ClawdBot must follow them exactly.

Part 1: WordPress Compatibility Rules

These are non-negotiable. Violating any will break rendering on the live site.

Rule 1: Font Loading — <link>, Never @import

WordPress strips @import inside <style> tags. The article must start with:

<link rel="stylesheet" href="https://fonts.googleapis.com/css2?family=Open+Sans:wght@400;600;700&family=Oswald:wght@400;600;700&display=swap">
<style>
/* all CSS here */
</style>
<div class="fb-article">
  <!-- all HTML here -->
</div>

Rule 2: SVG Icons — Triple Protection Required

The WP theme applies svg { width: 100% } which blows icons to full container width. Every <svg> needs ALL THREE layers:

Layer 1 — CSS reset with !important and WP wrapper selectors (included in the stylesheet below).

Layer 2 — HTML width/height attributes:

<svg class="ico" width="18" height="18" viewBox="0 0 24 24" ...>

Layer 3 — Inline style with !important:

<svg class="ico" width="18" height="18"
  style="width:1.1em!important;height:1.1em!important;max-width:1.1em!important;max-height:1.1em!important;display:inline-block!important;vertical-align:-0.15em!important;overflow:visible!important"
  viewBox="0 0 24 24" ...>

All three layers must be present on every SVG. Never skip a layer.

Rule 3: Dark-Background Sections — Inline Styles with Hardcoded Colors

The WP theme overrides CSS background on divs. Any dark-background section (.callout, .final-verdict) MUST have:

  • background-color and background set in an inline style attribute
  • Hardcoded hex values (NOT CSS variables)
  • !important on background properties
  • Inline style with hardcoded color on EVERY child text element

Rule 4: Text Properties — Always !important

The WP theme overrides font-size, line-height, color, and font-family. Every text-bearing CSS rule needs !important on those four properties.

Rule 5: CSS Variables vs Hardcoded Values

  • Use CSS variables in the stylesheet for general properties
  • Use hardcoded hex for background on dark sections
  • Use hardcoded hex for color on text inside dark sections
  • Always define variables in the .fb-article root selector

Rule 6: Hyperlinks — Triple Protection (Same as SVGs)

The WP theme strips text-decoration: underline from links. Every <a> tag (except .btn-primary buttons) needs ALL THREE layers:

Layer 1 — CSS reset with !important and WP wrapper selectors (included in the stylesheet):

.fb-article a,
.entry-content .fb-article a,
body .entry-content .fb-article a {
  color: #0f2b4a !important;
  text-decoration: underline !important;
  text-decoration-color: #d4a843 !important;
  text-underline-offset: 3px !important;
  text-decoration-thickness: 2px !important;
  text-decoration-style: solid !important;
}

Layer 2 — Inline style on every body-text <a> tag:

<a href="AFFILIATE_LINK" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow sponsored"
  style="color:#0f2b4a!important;text-decoration:underline!important;text-decoration-color:#d4a843!important;text-underline-offset:3px!important;text-decoration-thickness:2px!important">
  link text
</a>

Layer 3 — Dark-section links get gold-light color instead:

<a href="AFFILIATE_LINK" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow sponsored"
  style="color:#e8c46a!important;text-decoration:underline!important;text-decoration-color:#d4a843!important;text-underline-offset:3px!important;text-decoration-thickness:2px!important">
  link text
</a>

Exception: .btn-primary buttons get text-decoration: none !important — never underline CTA buttons.

Rule 7: Article Width — 1100px Centered

The WP theme's single-post container is set to 1100px. Every article's .fb-article root selector must include:

.fb-article {
  max-width: 1100px;
  margin: 0 auto;
  /* ...rest of variables and properties... */
}

Part 2: Complete CSS Stylesheet

ClawdBot must copy this entire <style> block into every new article. Only product-specific content changes between articles — the CSS stays identical.

.fb-article {
  max-width: 1100px;
  margin: 0 auto;
  --fb-navy: #0f2b4a;
  --fb-navy-dark: #0a1e33;
  --fb-teal: #0d7377;
  --fb-gold: #d4a843;
  --fb-gold-light: #e8c46a;

  --fb-light-gray: #e8e8e8;
  --fb-mid-gray: #888888;
  --fb-dark-gray: #333333;
  --fb-text: #333333;
  --fb-text-light: #666666;
  --fb-shadow: 0 4px 15px rgba(0,0,0,0.1);
  --fb-shadow-lg: 0 8px 30px rgba(0,0,0,0.15);
  --fb-transition: all 0.3s ease;
  font-family: 'Open Sans', sans-serif;

}

  1. The Spruce Pets (thesprucepets.com) — Magazine-style editorial
  2. NYT Wirecutter — Pets (nytimes.com/wirecutter/pets/) — Newspaper-style testing authority
  3. Dog Food Advisor (dogfoodadvisor.com) — Expert blog / resource hub

The Core Pattern

All three follow the same conversion funnel:

Trust → Education → Recommendation → Affiliate Click

Never:

Product → Price → Buy

The product is never the hero — the expert opinion is. Products appear only within the context of editorial judgment, testing methodology, and expert verification. ClawdBot must always frame FurrBudd content this way.

Part 10: Homepage & Navigation Principles

Homepage Must-Haves

  1. Lead with editorial, not product listings — zero commerce above the fold
  2. Quantified credibility banner — "X Products Reviewed" model builds instant trust
  3. Expert team section on homepage — named credentials
  4. Methodology preview — brief "how we evaluate" before deep-dive page
  5. Recall/safety utility content — recall alerts drive email signup and position the brand as protective

Navigation Architecture

  • Pet-type first (Dogs, Cats, etc.), NOT product-category first
  • Deep taxonomies: by breed, by condition, by life stage, by ingredient
  • "Best [Product]" lists as primary navigation targets
  • Recalls/safety as a first-class nav item

Part 11: Review Article Content Strategy

Article Title Patterns (Proven Formats)

  • "The [N] Best [Product], Tested and Reviewed"
  • "The [N] Best [Product] of [Year]"
  • "[Product Name] Review [Year]: Is It Worth It?"
  • "Best [Product] for [Specific Need] — Expert Picks"

Article Structure (Editorial Best Practices)

Every review ClawdBot generates should include:

  1. "Top Picks" summary at top — scannable before the deep dive
  2. Category labels — "Best Overall", "Best Budget", "Best for [Specific Need]"
  3. Pros/Cons structure — every product must have documented negatives
  4. Testing methodology section — "How We Evaluated" builds legitimacy
  5. Author + expert attribution — byline with credentials
  6. Spec tables — structured product data for comparison
  7. "Why Trust Us" section — methodology summary
  8. "Who This Is For" framing — frame the reader's need before selling

Content Differentiators That Build Trust

ElementHow ClawdBot Implements
Honest negativesAlways include 3+ genuine cons per product. Use "Worth Knowing" framing.
Testing provenanceState how the product was evaluated. If label-based, acknowledge it honestly.
Expert attributionUse "FurrBudd Editorial Team" byline; add veterinary review when available.
Independence declarationAffiliate disclosure on every article. State "we are not paid by brands."
Freshness signalsInclude publish/update dates. Monthly date stamps on "Best Of" lists.

Part 12: CTA Language Rules

Words ClawdBot Must NEVER Use

  • "Buy Now"
  • "Add to Cart"
  • "Shop" (except in Final Verdict CTA: "Shop [Product] on Amazon")
  • "Purchase"

Approved CTA Phrases

PhraseContext
"Check Price on Amazon"Primary CTA button
"View on Amazon"Secondary/inline links
"$[Price] at Amazon"Price-anchored links
"[Size] — Best Value"Price table highlight row
"Shop [Product] on Amazon"Final Verdict CTA only

Part 13: Affiliate Link Handling

Link Placement Rules (ClawdBot must follow)

  1. Primary CTA button (after verdict box)
  2. 2-3 contextual text links in body paragraphs (on product name, key benefit phrases)
  3. Price table "Best Value" row
  4. Final Verdict CTA and body links
  5. Never more than one CTA button visible without substantial content between them

Part 14: Trust Signal Priority

Ranked by impact — ClawdBot should maintain active signals and plan for roadmap items:

PrioritySignalStatus
1Affiliate disclosure on every articleActive
2Honest negatives (Pros/Cons) for every productActive
3Author bylines with "FurrBudd Editorial Team"Active
4Publish/update dates on every articleActive
5Transparent rating methodology pageRoadmap
6Named expert review board with credentialsRoadmap
7"How We Evaluated" section in every reviewRoadmap
8Monthly date stamps on "Best Of" listsRoadmap
9User review/community featuresFuture
10Academic/scientific source citationsFuture

Part 15: Brand Voice Guidelines

ClawdBot must write FurrBudd content with these rules:

  • Write in third-person editorial ("FurrBudd recommends...") or inclusive first-person plural ("we found...")
  • Never use aggressive sales language
  • Acknowledge limitations and trade-offs honestly
  • Frame recommendations around the dog's needs, not the product's features
  • Use data points and specifics over vague praise
  • Make the site feel like a magazine, not a storefront

Part 16: SEO Content Guidelines

Target Word Count

  • Single product reviews: 1,500+ words
  • "Best Of" roundup lists: 2,500+ words
  • Informational/educational posts: 1,000+ words

Keyword Placement

  • Primary keyword in H1 title
  • Primary keyword in first 100 words
  • Secondary keywords in H2 and H3 headings
  • Natural keyword density throughout body
  • Primary keyword in meta description and URL slug

Internal Linking Strategy

  • Every article links to 2-3 related FurrBudd articles
  • "Best Of" lists link to individual product reviews
  • Individual reviews link back to relevant "Best Of" lists

Part 17: Editorial Pre-Delivery Checklist

ClawdBot verifies these alongside the technical checklist (Part 8):

  • Article is 1,500+ words for single product reviews
  • Title follows proven format patterns (Part 11)
  • At least 3 genuine cons listed — no "puff piece" reviews
  • CTA language uses only approved phrases (Part 12)
  • Affiliate links placed in all 4 required positions (Part 13)
  • Author byline and date present
  • Content reads as editorial recommendation, not sales copy
  • No "Buy Now", "Add to Cart", or "Shop" language (except Final Verdict CTA)
  • Product evaluated from the dog's perspective, not just features
  • Primary keyword in title, first 100 words, and at least 2 H2s
  • FAQ section includes 5+ questions with natural keyword usage
