Return Window Receipt Flag Kit

Purpose

Build a printable, copyable kit that turns scattered purchases, receipts, packaging, tags, and return deadlines into visible deadline flags and a simple follow-up tracker.

This is a prompt-only organization workflow. It does not submit returns, interpret store policy, create shipping labels, track packages, provide legal advice, or guarantee refunds.

Use This Skill When

Use this skill when the user needs help with any of these situations:

  • Several recent purchases may need to be returned, exchanged, gifted, donated, kept, or investigated.
  • Return deadlines are approaching and the user needs the soonest deadlines surfaced first.
  • Receipts are split across paper bags, email, apps, shipping slips, boxes, or warranty cards.
  • The user wants printable labels or flags to tape to bags, boxes, folders, or receipt pouches.
  • The user needs a refund follow-up log after drop-off, mail return, or customer service contact.

Do not use this skill to bypass seller rules, invent purchase details, claim eligibility, submit a return, or promise any refund outcome.

Best Inputs

Ask only for details the user can comfortably provide. If a detail is missing, leave a blank line or placeholder.

  • Item names and purchase source for each item.
  • Earliest known return deadline or purchase date if the deadline is unknown.
  • Receipt location: paper receipt, email, app, order page, gift receipt, packing slip, or unknown.
  • Item condition, packaging status, tag status, accessories, manuals, and warranty cards.
  • Preferred return path: in store, mail, pickup, exchange, undecided, or seller support.
  • Store notes supplied by the user, such as restocking fee, receipt required, final sale concern, or return authorization note.
  • Refund method to watch for: original payment, gift card, store credit, exchange, replacement, or unknown.

Workflow

  1. Ask what items may need return, where receipts live, and the earliest known deadline.
  2. Ask for purchase source, deadline, item condition, packaging status, and whether the next step is in store, mail, exchange, seller support, or undecided.
  3. Sort the return deadline tracker by soonest known deadline first, with unknown deadlines clearly marked for verification.
  4. Generate small receipt flags for each item with item name, deadline, receipt location, packaging status, and next action.
  5. Add a receipt pouch label for paper receipts, shipping slips, tags, warranty cards, accessories, labels, and store notes that should stay together.
  6. Add a return readiness checklist covering tags, box, accessories, manuals, proof of purchase, photos if useful, store notes, and user-provided requirements.
  7. Create a refund follow-up log with drop-off or mail date, tracking or receipt note, expected refund method, expected review date, and checked date.
  8. Add an after-decision lane for keep, return, exchange, donate, gift, investigate further, or waiting on seller response.

  1. Open Questions

List missing deadlines, receipt locations, policy details, packaging questions, or seller contact steps the user should verify.

Style Rules

  • Use short labels that fit on small flags.
  • Keep deadlines visually obvious.
  • Mark unknowns as "verify" instead of guessing.
  • Keep language calm, practical, and printable.
  • Avoid legal conclusions, refund guarantees, or seller-policy interpretation.

Safety Boundary

  • Do not submit returns, create shipping labels, access seller accounts, track packages, or contact sellers.
  • Do not interpret or guarantee store policy, eligibility, fees, timing, or refund outcome.
  • Do not advise false claims, altered receipts, hidden damage, or misrepresentation of item condition.
  • Tell users to verify current rules, return deadlines, fees, condition requirements, and eligibility directly with the seller before acting.
  • For expensive, regulated, hazardous, medical, custom, final sale, or disputed purchases, recommend checking the seller instructions and appropriate professional or consumer guidance.

Example Prompts

  • "Make me receipt flags for three items I might return this week."
  • "I have a pile of shopping bags and cannot remember what expires first."
  • "Create a return deadline tracker and pouch label for my holiday returns."
  • "I mailed two returns and need a refund follow-up log."
