Design Principles
Follow these principles when making design and product decisions.
1. Be mindful of the community, data, and feedback / 情報を意識するように心がけよう
Make sure your decisions are well informed, based on research and designed with good intentions.
- Base decisions on data, user feedback, and research — not assumptions.
- Consider the community impact of every design choice.
- Design with good intentions for the end user.
2. Be efficient and unified, but original if the situation demands it / 有用性を用いたパターンを生み出そう
Embrace patterns and consistencies, but keep in mind that thinking outside the box can lead to fruitful innovations.
- Prefer established, consistent patterns across the product.
- Reuse existing components and conventions before creating new ones.
- When a situation genuinely calls for it, break from convention — originality can lead to innovation.
3. Be fun but simple, guideful and intuitive / シンプルに、親切に、直感的に
Find ways to keep it playful while leading people towards their goals!
- Keep interfaces simple and intuitive — users should not need instructions.
- Guide users toward their goals with clear, helpful interactions.
- Inject playfulness where appropriate without sacrificing usability.
4. Be collaborative / 協力を創ろう
When we come together as a team, we share a vision towards a better world, therefore collaboration is key.
- Share your vision and seek input from the team.
- Value diverse perspectives — better solutions come from collaboration.
- Align on a shared direction before diverging on implementation.
