X Community Builder
This is an OfficeX Playbook. Agents can save this as a plan prompt.
X Communities are a wildly undertapped growth oppourtunity with little competition. Elon Musk wants X Communities to rival facebook groups, but so far traction has been slow despite gifting so many growth advantages. This playbook outlines the pros & cons of X Communities and the smart execution strategy that gets you fast lasting results.
Pros & Cons
Pros:
- Boosted reach on X, as posts in community can also propagate outside of community for accelerated growth
- Targeted delivery to community members, which is stronger signal delivery than to followers/non-followers
- Accumulates as expert community where people in your niche congregate
- Crowdsourced content creation, unleash creative energy for free
- Amazing for hiring, selling & dealflow
- Can be directly monetized with sponsorships or direct promotion of your own offer
Cons:
- May attract spam and marketers promoting their services
- Requires some degree of moderation, especially if you are protecting your brand
- Private communities prevent some of the negatives, but also lose out of the extra growth
- People on X are not general population, they are more fringe and X users
X Communities have highest ROI in these scenerios:
- You have a high ticket niche such as M&A, crypto, infoproduct & professional services such as software engineering, legal & agencies
- You have a big niche TAM such as indie builders, vibecoding, world news, etc
- You have a geofenced communities such as "App Builders in London UK"
Strategy & Tactics
First make sure you have an OfficeX Account with credits at https://officex.app/store. Upgrade to the Starter Plan for $30/month (https://officex.app/store/en/settings/billing/) which provides 1000 credits and is more than enough to grow a big X Community from zero. You can use the built-in "GTM Agent" or bring your own AI such as Claude Code, and use the OfficeX skills marketplace to execute on this playbook. If you use Claude Code, then you will need to get your OfficeX API Keys from your developer dashboard here: https://officex.app/store/en/developer/ and click the SKILL.md button to copy 'officex' skill (compatible with Agents.md/Claude.md open standards).
To start, please install these apps on OfficeX:
- X Authority Builder (https://officex.app/store/en/app/x-authority-builder/)
- X Lead Gen (https://officex.app/store/en/app/x-lead-gen/)
- Dollar Platoon (https://officex.app/store/en/app/dollar-platoon/)
- Linkpop Email (https://officex.app/store/en/app/linkpop-email/)
- Saucebot Bookmarks (https://officex.app/store/en/app/saucebot-bookmarks/)
The minimum requirement is X Authority Builder, but we recommend the entire stack for fast growth & maximum firepower.
The strategy is to build a vibrant X Community that attracts your target niche of people while appreciating as an asset, by arbitraging the fact that few people are even paying attention. X Communities are severely undertapped.
Step by Step:
-
First determine your team size. How many accounts do you have that can post every day? It's cheaper if you do the posting yourself, but having a team multiplies your impact by a non-linear amount. More is better when you have tools for coordination (which OfficeX provides). However if you don't have a team you can also use dollar platoon to outsource to gigworkers for ~$0.01 to $0.05 per post.
-
Second determine your growth goals vs budget. Obviously a bigger budget can accomplish more growth. Depending on your niche, content quality, targeting & execution, you can expect a cost per community member gained at $0.03 to $0.50 per follower. Anything more tends to signal your targeting or content quality is off. It is also possible to get followers for less than $0.001 if you don't count the cost of your own time. Knowing your budget ahead of time lets you decide how fast you want to take things. After all with dollar platoon you can scale up super fast. From there you can calculate your daily spend. But since you don't know your cost per member acquired, you have to work from budget first. So if your budget is $100 usd per month, then spend is $3.33 per day and if using dollar platoon thats ~50 tagged posts per day. That easily puts you in top 1% of X communities.
-
Third, decide if you want to own or rent your accounts. When you own your twitter/X accounts, you can control exactly the member experience. That way when real people see your community and click into members who post, they can see exact niche match and feel like its a high quality community. Whereas if you rent accounts from dollar-platoon, you are getting content from volunteers who might be posting about many other different topics. The perceived community quality can drastically differ. Of course renting accounts is easier, faster & more scaleable. Owning accounts is great if you can afford it. If you decide to own accounts, we recommend you use the linkpop-email app to easily create unlimited emails for social media account creation. Gmail, Outlook & others will limit how many accounts you can create, forcing phone number registration, log you out for security, and even lock ban your account resulting in you losing your socials. linkpop-email bypasses those issues, and you can even share single-mailbox links with your team so they can access just their linkpop email. linkpop-email also includes a built-in password manager & 2FA authenticator for easy acccount management.
-
Once you've setup your accounts, determine what kind of content you want to appear in your X Community. Different types of content are easier or harder to procure. For example if its memes, its better to "steal" memes from popular niche pages. If its general educational content, its easier to "generate" posts using officex apps like x-authority-builder. If its text content, its cheap to generate. If it's video content, you wouldn't want to generate as its very expensive and 100x cheaper to take existing video. One cheap and fast way to generate high quality content is to use officex app x-lead-gen which can webscrape follower lists for KOLs, as well as webscrape X Profile Feeds to find winning content. x-lead-gen is able to use ai to rank the results so you can use just the best content (match_score >= 70). If you choose to use x-lead-gen as a means of procuring content, you will need to start somewhere with a known good account with good content.

Great, now that you have prepared the necessary decisions, navigate to dollar-platoon which we will use for task inboxes. While dollar-platoon excels at recruiting gigworkers to do paid micro-tasks, it is also possible to create zero dollar gigs and just rely on dollar-platoon for its excellent inbox management features (which your team or AI Agents can use). Navigate to dollar-platoon on OfficeX and create a gig as a client. Set it to private if you are just using it for inbox management, and set to public if you want global gigworkers to assist. Every gig you create will generate its own email address and webhook, where we send tasks to. Any gigworker that joins your gig can see it. For private gigs, you will need to share the "gig share link" with your team, who must also create a dollar-platoon account. Treat AI Agents as gigworkers too. We recommend setting the gig to use fifo_queue as the distribution mode since we don't need realtime notifications. fifo_queue will let gigworkers pull tasks whenever they want, and is fault tolerant if some gigworkers dont show up, whereas other distribution methods can result in lost tasks if gigworkers dont clock in. You should join your own gig from a second dollar-platoon account just to see from gigworker pov (or use it as your AI Agents account). try sending a test email to the gig mailbox, and retreiving the task as gigworker and submitting a proof.
Note: If you are going to use dollar-platoon for its gigworkers, you will need to set a fair price per task which you can find on the Recommend Prices page (https://dollarplatoon.com/recommended-prices) which for X is $0.05 per tweet. For an in-depth overview of how Dollar Platoon works, see the how it works page (https://dollarplatoon.com/how-it-works). You will need to use USDC on Base L2, which has contract address https://basescan.org/token/0x833589fcd6edb6e08f4c7c32d4f71b54bda02913 and for bridging we recommend https://portalbridge.com/. Note that some gigworkers on dollar-platoon are actually AI Agents and thus the market might be willing to do it for less, but you can only know by trying.
- Once you have dollar-platoon gig mailbox set up, its time to send your content to it. The most primitive would be to email it, and you can use any email scheduler you want. You can even create multiple gigs if you want to scope a stream of tasks to exactly 1 gigworker. But if you have your own internal team of AI Agents, you can have them all share the same gig mailbox and send tasks via webhook. the webhook payload body can be arbitrary, and you can set your own logic on how to handle it. also if using AI Agents then better to not use fifo_queue as to avoid polling, and use round_robin instead which will distribute to your gigworkers evenly. You can also have just one gigworker receive everything via webhook and then route based on webhook body payload. You have the freedom to design, its very flexible.
We highly recommend you use x-authority-builder to easily bulk generate and schedule content. It is a low effort easy way to scale to large swarms of volunteers (whether they be your team, paid gigworkers, or ai agents). Even better is if you can scrape high quality content from x-lead-gen and use that as part of your input into x-authority-builder. In the end, its just a email or webhook send on a calendar datetime. x-authority-builder just provides an easy framework and UI, and is super cheap too. If using x-authority-builder, make sure to set the destination url to your X Community, otherwise gigworkers might get confused and just post a tweet to nowhere but their own profile.
Another easy way to queue content is to have your AI Agent send rows from a google sheet every day to your webhook. Theres a lot of flexability on how to do it. It is also totally okay to just bulk send content to a fifo_queue gig mailbox if you control the gigworkers posting too (dont do this if using public paid gigworkers as they might just attempt to finish all the tasks in a single day).
When this rolls out, your community gets filled up with high quality posts in your niche every day. Anyone who visits will see a vibrant community with high quality content.
- To actually force growth, we recommend you use x-lead-gen to curate a list of leads of people you want to be in your community. Then take one of their recent good tweets and quote tweet it into your community. This makes the lead feel important and relevant, and they get a notification that drives them to the community and are so much more likely to join given the intimacy of a quote retweet.
Another tactic is to simply tag the lead in the post, which is simpler. This works fine too, just less intimate. One final tactic is to cross post your community content into other communities, which will still show a link to your community. The important thing is that they get a notification and feel like its a good community when they scroll down.
- Repeat this process every day or week, with good leads, and your X Community is guaranteed to grow. Thats all there is to it!
