Startup Info

Produce a concise startup briefing from web research. Max 2 search rounds.

Research

Round 1 — run all in parallel:

  1. {name} company overview founded funding crunchbase
  2. site:crunchbase.com {name} funding rounds
  3. {name} founders CEO background
  4. {name} revenue ARR customers traction
  5. {name} competitors alternatives
  6. {name} GitHub stars open source — only if likely open-source
  7. Fetch the company homepage and /about page

Round 2 (only if critical gaps): Max 3-4 targeted follow-ups.

Rules

  • Never fabricate. Write "Not disclosed" for missing fields.
  • Use search snippets when sites block fetching (LinkedIn, Crunchbase).
  • Cross-reference funding across 2+ sources.
  • Prefer sources from last 12 months.

Output

Read references/template.md for the exact output structure. Sections:

  1. TLDR — 2-3 sentences + key facts table
  2. Product — what it does, differentiators, distribution
  3. Founders — 1-2 sentences each + LinkedIn
  4. Funding — rounds table + investors
  5. Traction — revenue, customers, signals, trajectory
  6. Competitors — table with one-line differentiation
  7. Moat & Risks — moat type, bull/bear case, verdict

Keep sentences short. No filler. If data unavailable, say so.

Edge Cases

  • Stealth/early-stage: Mark missing sections. Lean on website + founders.
  • Public company: Replace Funding with IPO info.
  • Not found: Tell the user directly.
