Micro Offer Validation Sprint

Overview

Micro Offer Validation Sprint helps freelancers, consultants, coaches, creators, and knowledge workers test whether a narrow paid offer is worth building. It turns a rough idea into a 7-day validation plan with a customer hypothesis, pain interview script, simple offer copy, ethical outreach messages, objection notes, and a go / iterate / stop decision gate.

The skill is prompt-first and educational. It does not run ads, scrape prospects, send messages, process payments, or promise revenue. The goal is disciplined learning before spending weeks building a full product, course, agency package, or service business.

When to Use

Use this skill when the user wants to:

  • Test a side-income, freelance, consulting, coaching, creator, or small-business idea.
  • Package expertise into a small starter offer, audit, workshop, template, report, or done-for-you service.
  • Find out whether a clear customer group feels a pain strongly enough to consider paying.
  • Write non-spammy outreach messages for warm contacts, community peers, or permission-based leads.
  • Decide after 7 days whether to continue, change the offer, or stop.

Do not use it to create get-rich-quick plans, guaranteed-income claims, spam campaigns, deceptive scarcity, or high-pressure sales funnels.

Inputs

Ask for the following only as needed:

  • Idea: The offer idea, expertise area, audience, and current confidence level.
  • Target customer: Role, situation, pain, urgency, budget context, and where they can be reached ethically.
  • Problem evidence: Past conversations, repeated questions, failed attempts, existing competitors, or known spending behavior.
  • Offer shape: Desired format, delivery time, price range, capacity, refund stance, and what is explicitly not included.
  • Assets: Audience, email list, community access, portfolio, testimonials, examples, or none.
  • Constraints: Time available this week, risk tolerance, legal / compliance limits, platform rules, and privacy limits.
  • Tone: Direct, warm, professional, casual, founder-like, or highly conservative.

If information is missing, proceed with labeled assumptions and ask concise follow-up questions only when the answer would materially change the sprint.

Workflow

  1. Clarify the micro-offer boundary

    • Convert the broad idea into one small, deliverable outcome.
    • Define who it is for, what pain it addresses, what the buyer receives, and what is out of scope.
  2. Form the customer-pain hypothesis

    • State the target customer, triggering situation, painful job-to-be-done, current alternatives, and why now.
    • Rate evidence strength as low, medium, or high.
  3. Design discovery conversations

    • Create 8-12 pain-interview questions that explore real behavior, current costs, urgency, and buying process.
    • Avoid leading questions such as "Would you buy my product?"
  4. Draft the testable offer

    • Produce a plain-language offer promise, deliverables, time commitment, eligibility, price-test range, and ethical guarantee / refund policy options.
    • Keep claims specific and evidence-based.
  5. Prepare validation assets

    • Write lightweight landing-page copy or a one-message offer brief.
    • Draft outreach DM / email variants for warm contacts, audience posts, and referral requests.
    • Include opt-out-friendly language and avoid mass-spam tactics.
  6. Build the 7-day sprint plan

    • Day 1: Narrow offer and prospect list.
    • Day 2: Conduct pain interviews.
    • Day 3: Revise offer and price range.
    • Day 4: Send ethical outreach.
    • Day 5: Handle objections and collect signal.
    • Day 6: Offer limited pilot spots only if genuinely deliverable.
    • Day 7: Score evidence and choose go / iterate / stop.
  7. Create the validation scoreboard

    • Track conversations, qualified pain, replies, calls booked, price objections, pre-sale / pilot commitments, refunds requested, and qualitative objections.
    • Define minimum evidence thresholds before the sprint starts.
  8. Make the decision

    • Recommend one of: proceed with a tiny paid pilot, iterate customer / pain / offer / price, or stop and preserve lessons.
    • Separate evidence from enthusiasm.

Safety Boundaries

  • Educational business-planning support only; not legal, tax, accounting, employment, investment, or financial advice.
  • Do not guarantee income, conversion rates, audience growth, funding, client acquisition, or business success.
  • Do not encourage spam, scraping, deceptive scarcity, fake testimonials, fabricated authority, false urgency, or manipulative sales pressure.
  • Do not recommend violating platform rules, employer policies, professional licensing rules, consumer-protection laws, or privacy expectations.
  • Encourage the user to verify claims, disclose limitations, honor refunds / guarantees, and consult qualified professionals for regulated services or contracts.
  • If the offer touches health, finance, legal, education credentials, minors, or other regulated areas, narrow the scope and add stronger review steps.

Examples

Example 1

User prompt:

I am a product manager and want to validate a $199 resume and LinkedIn audit for mid-career PMs in 7 days. I have 6 hours this week and a small LinkedIn audience.

Expected response: create a narrow audit offer, interview questions for PM job-search pain, warm LinkedIn outreach, a simple post, pricing-test notes, and a 7-day evidence scoreboard.

Example 2

User prompt:

I teach Notion workflows and want to test a micro-offer for overwhelmed solo consultants. Help me avoid building a full course before I know anyone will pay.

Expected response: define a small implementation sprint or template-review offer, identify buyer pain, draft non-spammy outreach, and set go / iterate / stop criteria.
